Hand crafted environmentally responsible wooden objects

Sustainable Woodworking for a Modern Age

Things are getting rolling now and I've started producing work for sale. I've located and gathered up some good stock of wood, from sustainable sources. I have a good supply of nice blond bamboo, recycled hardwood flooring no less! I've also found a source for a variety of woods, from a source that saves great wood headed to landfill. I'm starting with pens/pencils, but I also hope to have more items coming soon.

Would you like a unique pen?

Be sure to check out the Pen Styles page! I've got examples of a number of styles, and examples of some of the available woods. Please contact me for more information on getting your own hand made environmentally responsible pen. Pricing can vary a bit depending on the plating choice (gold, chrome, etc), the tye of wood, or the complexity of the desig. On the Pen Styles page I give a general price range for each of my pen types, please let me know if you have any questions!

Featured Pen

Closed End Koa Wood Baron: A new style pen I have started making.  The end is solid wood instead of the standard metal hardware, and gives it a very unique look.  The wood is some Koa wood I brought back from my vacation to Hawaii, it was a box of scrap I picked up at a woodworking shop.

Status

Currently I am working on developing inventory items, and sourcing supplies of wood that fits with my vision. I've been making pens for custom orders, and spending some time in research to find just which are the best pens I can make, and good sources for supplies for them. I've narrowed down to a select handful of the best, and will be putting together some information on those soon.

Respect for the Environment

My idea is to use mostly sustainable and environmentally responsible woods such as bamboo, sustainably harvested woods, and recycled woods. The woods will be mostly FSC certified hardwoods, Bamboo, recycled woods, and non-threatened species of woods.

I've worked out two new styles of pens that I can offer. I've sourced the parts I need for Calligraphy pens, and they are a blast to make!  I also have found the best rollerball style pen I've seen yet.  The "Baron" style is a nice weight, comfortable size, and best of all looks amazing. I've been using my new pen at work, and it's gotten lots of compliments already.  I'll be working on a page soon to display all the style I have available.  Also, I figured out how to make a "Teachers Pen", a double ended pen with black and red inks for grading papers.  You can see examples of these in the Gallery.
